RISING from Copenhagen plays Epic Metal / Progressive Metal, has made a concept album: Sword And Scythe. It starts with a small mood picture "Amor Fati", a little ambient-like followed by a number of super cool numbers. There is a lot of variation in the numbers and there is also a pure recorder number! (which is played by singer Morten Grønnegaard)
The sound itself is very balanced and the detail is well taken care of. The production is very nice and one like to put the CD on repeat.
Morten's voice is great for Rock and is a joy to listen to. There is, however, a small minus (in my ears) The voice could well have been turned up a little more, but it belongs to the petit department and is not something that is a disaster. There is good interplay between the two guitarists - and sometimes it sounds quite 70's, which must be perceived very positively. The drums deliver a masterpiece in themselves and the bass puts a solid base.
It's a very serious and elaborate album I predict a great future.
Rising is: Morten Grønnegaard: vocals, Jacob Krogholt: Guitar & backing vocals, Anders Bo Rasmussen: Guitar, Bjarke Lassen: Bass & backing vocals & Martin Niemann: drums, percussion & backing vocals
Sword And Scythe was released on October 26th 2018 via Indisciplinarian.
